Pre-Masters Programme

The Plan-it Pre-Masters Programme, offered in association with Bournemouth University and the University of Northumbria in the UK, prepares students for the rigorous requirements of international study at the tertiary level. Plan-it Pre-Masters is a socially conscious and student-focused organisation that employs the highest quality of teaching to develop the full potential of our students. Its goal is that the students gain the confidence and skills needed to succeed at the highest levels in education, career and life.

Plan-it’s Pre-Masters and Pre-MBA Programmes are conducted in four stages. Stage one is a specialist IELTS Exam Preparation course. Stage two is a series of foundation courses, developed to provide the skills and confidence to succeed at the master’s-degree level. The foundation courses are in English, mathematics, study skills, and research methods.

Stage three is a sequence of core courses that focus on the student’s area of specialisation and provide basic grounding in the subject. For a description of the Pre-Masters core courses, click here. For an overview of the Stage three foundation courses, Intensive Business English and Basic Business Mathematics, click here. The individual Stage three core courses are in Management, Marketing, Human Resources Management and Finance and Accounting.

Stage four is a supervised project that allows students to utilise the knowledge and skills they have learnt in a practical, high-level research exercise.

Students who complete the series will have these necessary skills for master’s degree study:
Report Writing – expressing powerful ideas clearly and precisely

Lecture Skills – understanding completely technical and theoretical material presented during lectures

Reading – knowing how to speed read a large amount of academic material, understand it, and summarise its contents

Presentation skills – acquiring the confidence and style that are key to presenting ideas and data
The course will make students:
confident and proficient in their use of English

gain extensive knowledge about their master’s degree subject area

be confident about their ability to study in a Western environment
Students also will have access to our existing student network to help them choose a course of study and place of residence and gather other useful information about studying abroad. We facilitate the university application and visa process. Click here for our services in those areas. We offer guaranteed placement at a UK university at the appropriate level.

All course modules are developed on a stand-alone basis. Students may take all of them in a series or each individually.

Foundation and Core Courses can be taken on a full-time basis, 18 hours per week for 13 weeks, or part-time, 9 hours per week for 26 weeks. The Supervised Project requires 13 weeks to complete. The IELTS Preparation course is 72 hours with an optional additional 36 hours for Advanced IELTS Preparation.
English for Academic Purposes
This course is designed to help students who need further language training for academic programmes at the university or college level. The course addresses all four fundamental areas of English proficiency: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Custom Programs in India

India: Emerging World Superpower
Over the last fifteen years, India has brought itself to the center stage of the world economy. India’s engineering and technical strengths are legendary. It has become a powerhouse in software development and business process outsourcing and is making great strides in manufacturing and other high technology fields.

There is no doubt that India will be a major economic force in the 21st century, though it will face significant challenges in developing infrastructure and spreading these economic gains to its still overwhelmingly rural population.

Custom Programs
Our management team has long-standing ties to India, particularly within the business community. It is one of our favorite countries in the world and a priority for us organizationally. Our first academic approach into India was within the Global Business Semester, but we are currently working on several interesting models for study abroad or educational experiences in India.

Students
If you are interested in studying abroad in India, please create a Student Explorer account in order to receive regular updates. We hope to have announcements regarding new developments over the course of the year.

Advisors
On the institutional side, we are very open to considering partnerships or custom programs in India. If your institution is considering India as a location for study abroad, please let us know. We would love to discuss it with you.
